An elderly woman is currently being treated for injuries in hospital after her car was stolen yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) in Castlerea. The Roscommon Herald understands that the woman, aged in her 70s, was deceived by a man into thinking that her car had a puncture. When she stopped and got out of the car, the man jumped into the driver seat and drove off. The woman was injured in the incident when she had her hand on the car door handle and fell. Gardaí also confirmed that they are investigating the theft of a vehicle on the Williamstown Road, Castlerea that occurred yesterday afternoon.
